Get Tax Back!

Tax credits for R&D are available.

Introduced in 2000, Research and Development Tax Credits are a government incentive designed to boost innovation across multiple industries.

This is an opportunity for you to reduce your corporation tax bill or receive a refund from HMRC based on the working hours your business dedicates to research & development.

Most Harvest Agri customers are eligible!

After all, our products are mostly intended to help farmers improve. Our motto is Grow Better – and the way you do that is by testing and monitoring results.

Many claimants mistakenly assume that eligible R&D projects are only conducted in highly scientific settings like laboratories. However, R&D can occur in businesses of all sectors and sizes, including agriculture.

If you are spending time testing one cultivation method or cultivar or fertilisation programme against another and analysing the results in order to improve, you are able to claim a tax refund for the cost and time involved.

Your Claims Done For You

Harvest Agri has partnered with a firm of specialised accountants who know how to make the claims.

After an initial chat with Jack Ingle, we will arrange that an expert contacts you. They will ask for some information, do all the necessary form-filling for you, and make the claim on your behalf!

After a brief discussion, they will usually need copies of your most recent Draft Accounts, CT600 and Tax Computations.

Claims can even be retrospective for the previous TWO tax years.

What is the cost? If the claim is unsuccessful, nothing. If the claim succeeds, up to about 30% of the amount awarded. In some cases, by agreement, they may charge a higher commission with GUARANTEED success!

The Cost of Research & Development

The most common costs incurred by R&D projects include:

  • Staffing costs
  • Software
  • Subcontractors / technical advisors
  • Measuring equipment and materials

The good news is that a proportion of these costs can be recovered through R&D tax credits whether the project was a success or not.
